Lillie Frances Bourge, 89, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 18, 2024, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
Born in Clarksville, Arkansas, on January 8, 1935, she was the daughter of Mark Henderson Callahan and Roxie Jane Callahan. Lillie lived a life filled with love, strength, and creativity. After raising her family, she took the bold step of starting her own cleaning business creating a warm, welcoming environment for every client. Lillie’s hands were always busy with her many hobbies. She had a passion for sewing, crafting beautiful clothes for her daughter and designing outfits for Barbie dolls. Her cooking skills were well known, with her fried chicken and gumbo becoming family favorites. Lillie was proud of the time and effort she put into caring for her loved ones, ensuring that everyone felt cherished and comforted. She always treated everyone she met like family. Also known for her fiery spirit, Lillie was always straightforward in her words and actions. She was not afraid to speak her mind and was well spoken, making her a remarkable presence in any gathering. Her love for animals was evident, especially for her pet cats, illustrating her compassionate nature in every aspect of her life. Lillie will be remembered for her strong character, her dedication to her family, and her unwavering spirit. She leaves behind many fond memories and a legacy of love and kindness. She will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Roxie Callahan her loving husband, Lee Bourge; and her son, Joe Bourge.
She is survived by her son, Mitchel Bourge and wife, Mary of Orange; her daughter Janie Jeanis and husband, David of Orange; her grandchildren, Amber Bourge, Leah Johnson and husband, Aaron, Stephanie Hufford and husband, Justin, Kristi Trosclair and husband, Jared, Sharon Davenport, LeaAnna Davenport and Sean Jeanis; her 16 great-grandchildren; her 9 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
