Thursday afternoon another Summer thunderstorm rolled through parts of Orange County, bringing needed rain but also thunder and lightning.
Just before 5pm, Pinehurst Fire was called to 3305 Old Castle Lane in the Camelot neighborhood for a house fire.
West Orange, along with ESD 3 & 4 also responded as well as Acadian as the fire and smoke was coming from the roof.
The fire was put out fairly quickly. The home received extensive smoke and water damage. Everyone that was in the home got out safely and Red Cross was called to assist.
Deputy Chief Adam Fields with the PHFD said they’re not 100% sure yet, but the scene had the signs of a lightning strike.
