Tuesday’s damp weather forced a postponement of the Texas Department of Transportation bringing its 100-year old truck to the Texas Travel Information Center on Interstate 10 in Orange. TxDOT instead brought the World War I surplus truck dubbed Liberty to the information center on Thursday morning. Liberty was viewed by visitors at the Travel Information Center most of the day. TxDOT is celebrating its 100th birthday in April and is taking Liberty the first truck it ever used to visit each of its 25 district offices across the state. On Wednesday Liberty was at the Beaumont District office located on the Eastex Freeway.
