Leta Joyce Parker, age 82 of Orange, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 in Orlando, Florida. A memorial service to honor Joyce’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Dollar officiating. Family and friends will gather from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM for a visitation on Sunday August 9, 2020 at Dorman Funeral Home. Her final resting place will be at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
Joyce was born in Amarillo, Texas on October 27, 1937 to Oliver and Bernice Stuckey. Joyce was a loving and caring person that was willing to always help others. She volunteered at Shangri La and Stark House. Joyce became a member of North Orange Baptist Church many years ago.
Joyce loved being on the go, whether it was shopping, church trips, bowling trips, or just sightseeing; she loved the excitement and togetherness with others.
She took great pride in caring for her yard and taking care of her plants. She loved working puzzles, playing cards and board games with family members. Joyce was a collector of Norman Rockwell, and baby dolls and loved to take care of them. Most of all, she loved being with her friends, family, grandkids, great grandkids and her dog Toby.
She is preceded in death her husbands, Andre’ P. Marsolan and Donald Parker; as well as her parents Oliver and Bernice Stuckey.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Karen Broussard and her husband Ricky of Sulphur, LA, sisters, Patsy Gatlin and her husband Donald of Orlando, FL and Shirley Smith of Amarillo, TX, two grandchildren, April Johnson and her husband Cole of Yantis, TX and Joshua Magnuson (Amber Cook) of Vidor, TX, seven great grandchildren; Lucas Magnuson, Macie Magnuson, Madlynn Magnuson, Kennedy Steele, Lucas Johnson, Nikolas Johnson and Rudi Jo Johnson and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
