Leigh-ann Burleigh Trawhon, 56, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on July 26,
2025.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church in Orange,
Texas. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a service at 3:00 p.m.
Born in Orange, Texas, on March 21, 1969, Leigh-ann was the daughter of Harold Burleigh and Jennifer
Brown Burleigh. She spent her childhood with her family riding horses, going to the lake, loving every
animal she came across, and supporting all things Little Cypress – Mauriceville where she graduated a
proud member of the class of 1987. Leigh-ann earned a degree in Biology from Lamar University and
worked for the Sabine River Authority. She spent her entire career at SRA where she developed many
friendships.
Leigh-ann was most proud of her family that began when she became a mother to her son, Pate. Several
years later she wed the love of her life, Troy Trawhon, and became stepmom to Claire. Her family was
complete with the arrival of their daughter Conner. Leigh-ann was happiest spending every moment she
could at baseball, football, volleyball, and basketball games, track meets, cheer competitions, and dance
recitals cheering on her children as well as her nieces and nephews. Leigh-ann found peace at her
parents’ lake house on Toledo Bend where she would spend hours fishing or sometimes just sitting on
the deck enjoying the view. She loved family vacations at Walt Disney World, Aggie Football, and
listening to Elvis Presley and Kenny Chesney. Nothing made her prouder than being a United States
Coast Guard mom to Pate, an Aggie mom to Claire and Conner, and a pet mom to her Australian
Sheppard named Bluebell and two cats named Belle and Jasmine. Leigh-ann battled health issues her
entire life, although you would never know because she never complained. She always found strength
and comfort in the Bible verse Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do
not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” She lived
her life “strong and courageous,” and would ask her family and friends to try and do the same as they
move forward. Leigh-ann was an exceptional person and will be missed dearly by those she leaves
behind.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jennifer Burleigh; grandparents, William Pate “Buster” Brown Jr.
