A baseball team often sees itself as a team of brothers — especially in the Northwoods League where you are away from home, away from your college program, and all you have to depend on is the other guys in the dugout, your summer family.
Unless, of course, your actual brother is playing beside you.
Brothers Mitchell Lee and Michael Lee have been able to spend the summer together playing baseball, just like they did growing up in Orange. The two Battle Creek Bombers agree this summer together is an added bonus they didn’t see coming as the team plays its final four home games this week — Thursday through Sunday.
“At the end of our high school career, we didn’t think we’d ever play together again,” Mitchell Lee said. “This opportunity came up and we took it knowing we get to play the game we grew up playing together one last summer.”
