Orange police are looking for 39-year-old John Marion LeBlanc III as a suspect in a shooting on March 23. Captain Robert Enmon said LeBlanc is wanted on numerous other charges and is considered armed and dangerous.
Anonymous tips may be phoned to Crime Stoppers, 409-833-TIPS. Enmon said if a tip is used to help in the arrest, a person may receive a reward.
He said 24-year-old Marcus Walker on Friday was still in a Beaumont hospital after suffering from two gunshot wounds in the abdomen. The shooting was about 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, in the area of Sixth Street and Rein Avenue.
A group of people had been socializing in the street when an argument broke out and Walker was shot, Enmon said last week.
LeBlanc is wanted on a federal probation warrant, plus two felony warrants from Orange County, and six misdemeanor warrants.
Enmon said LeBlanc has convictions for aggravated assault with bodily injury, numerous charges of possession of a controlled substance, escape while arrested, evading arrest with a vehicle, accident involving injuries, and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
Besides Crime Stoppers, people with information about LeBlanc may also call the Orange Police Department at 409-883-1026.
