There is a lot of dirt being turned around the LCMCISD School District. The football field is trading in grass for turf and the trees in the front parking lot are being replaced by tennis courts.
Also at the Administration Building on FM1130, dirt is being moved around. Superintendent Stacey Brister says it’s part of a FEMA Hurricane Harvey Project.
“We lost our Special Education building when it took on water during Harvey,” she said. “They’ve been at Central Office since they had to move out. This will be a new wing to accommodate what we lost which included offices, kitchen area, and professional development room. Plus we’re adding some parking of what we’re losing to the building. The wing will attach to the front of the building being built toward the south/MLK.”
The Bears head back to school on August 11.
