On Saturday, January 27, twenty-one Little Cypress Junior High Varsity choir members attended the annual UIL Solo and Ensemble contest. Each child prepares, memorizes and then performs a solo for a judge who gives them a rating of one to five, with one being superior. According to choir director, Stephanie Teague, “Considering they only had seven class periods to learn their song and only four practices with their accompanist, I am beyond thrilled to announce the following results. I am so proud of the efforts these students put into this contest and am excited to continue this musical journey with them.”
These students earned superior ratings. First row: Penny Brock-Hogge, Alicia Feliciano, Evelyn Aldaco, Row two: Anna Higginbotham, Zoe Lingo, LeAnn Rodgers, Row 3: Hannah Tait, Taylor Cormier, Aaliyah LeCompte, Alyssa Reed, Fourth row: Zoe Ryan, Raniyah Richardson, Chelsea Kelly, Genesis Leon, Frankie Thomassee, Natalie Sulak, Fifth row: Ethan Martin, Payton Martinez, Seventh row: Camden Vercher and Ace Vandervoort. Row six: Eduardo Mares brought home an excellent rating.
