Laurence Jerome “Larry” Payne, born November 16, 1950 in Orange, Texas to Josephine and Melvin Payne, transitioned peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023 in Houston, Texas.
A viewing and visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., followed by a Vigil for the Deceased and Holy Rosary on Monday, December 4, 2023 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Memorial Park, 6622 Haskell Street, in Houston, Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 also at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Memorial Park. This Mass will be livestreamed and may be viewed at www.sttheresa.cc/funeralstream.
A second Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., with a viewing at 9:00 a.m., December 6, 2023 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 1409 6th Street, in Orange, Texas, his home parish.
The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange, Texas. A repast will follow at St. Therese Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Interfaith Ministries or The University of St. Thomas, in Larry’s memory.
