UPDATE: All clear given at 3:20pm. Campus will open for normal operations on Thursday, June 12th. One man was taken into custody. LU officials said he was an online student. He entered the library with flammable material claiming he would injure himself and others but eventually surrendered to police.
At approximately 12:15pm Wednesday an individual was observed dressed in construction clothing entering the library construction zone. When approached they determined the individual was not authorized to be in the building or was not a construction employee. The individual made a threat to himself and was in possession of flammable materials.
LUPD called for an evacuation of campus to ensure the safety of all faculty, staff, and students. Please remain off campus.
