Kyle Lumpkin, 63, was promoted to Heaven on March 11, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Kyle was born on September 21, 1953 to Bob and Joyce Lumpkin. He is preceded in death by his father, Bob Byron Lumpkin. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Sanders Lumpkin, formerly of Orange, Tx, now residing in Florence, Tx, sister Cindi Lumpkin Clanton and husband David (Bear) of Florence, Tx, brother Scott Lumpkin and wife DeAnn Albright of Orange, Tx, nephews Dr. David Clanton and wife Alexis of San Antonio, Tx and Byron Lumpkin of Orange, Tx, nieces Brooke Clanton Duhon and husband Brandon of Bedford, Tx, Candace Clanton Tottenham of San Antonio, Tx and Staci Lumpkin McFarlane and husband Luke of Orange, Tx as well as eight great nieces & nephews, whom he adored. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 3:00 at First Baptist Church Florence, Tx, where Kyle was showered with love and encouragement during his cancer battle. Kyle attended Stephen F. Austin University where he achieved a Bachelors Degree in Business. While there, he made numerous lifelong friends and created treasured memories for the Theta Chi fraternity. Kyle traveled for much of his working life, making friends far and wide. He was dedicated to his family, using vacation time to visit family members in Orange, Tx and Florence, Tx. Kyle had an insatiable curiosity and never met a stranger. It has been said that he really knew how to work a room. His family finds comfort knowing his ‘room’ just got bigger.
