
Following a recent inspection, Kotoyama Restaurant on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst was shut down and told they couldn’t reopen until the necessary repairs were made. It’s not the first time the establishment has been shut down.
Since then the owner, Trung Tran, has notified the City of Pinehurst he would not be reopening. Kotoyama has been in Pinehurst since 2010.

Inspectors said that while the store side was clean, the same could not be said about the kitchen. Some of the problems included Inspectors finding a dust pan sitting on a box of potatoes. Potatoes and buckets of salsa were stored on the floor. Meat in the cooler was uncovered. Meat stored in cooler above the vegetables. No one working was certified.
Donut Hole on Hwy. 87 received an 80
Inspectors found sausage and kolaches at improper temperatures. Mildew in the ice machine. Food needs to be covered, labeled and dated.
