2025 KOGT Mardi Gras Treasure Hunt sponsored by Sabine Federal Credit Union
The greater Orange area consists of Orange, West Orange, Pinehurst and Little Cypress. So what do they all have in common? Now we’re not talking about the trees, grass, streets, homes and people. You need to look a little deeper than that. As usual, each days clue will lead you in a direction.
Monday – Clue #1
Whether it’s been a hot day or a long day or a hot and long day, many of us end it with a margarita. Like Tennessee Whiskey or Kentucky Bourbon, the margarita is known as a Mexican cocktail and you don’t have to drive far to spend your dinero on a variety of flavors or you may just buy the ingredients and concoct your own at home.
Fun Fact: Margarita in Spanish translates to “daisy” in English.
So will you have to wait until Friday or will you be able to decipher the clues?
Tuesday – Clue #2
Many believe the storage of local history in the brain is beneficial for the KOGT Treasure Hunt. We can’t deny that but it depends on the theme. But many of us have purchased storage bins to put our stuff in and then rent a storage place to put the storage bins. Fortunately we have enough around here to accommodate but which one are we referring to?
Fun Fact: What are the three D’s to mini-storage demand? Death, divorce, and downsizing.
Wednesday – Clue #3
It doesn’t matter what grade you’re in, you are there to learn. Maybe you’re learning about how many quarters make a dollar. If you’re older you’re learning military history or maybe the periodic table.
Fun Fact: While problem-solving is generally not a subject, it’s considered the most challenging aspect of classes like math, science, and engineering.
Thursday – Clue #4
Many of you are praying to find the treasure. There are plenty of places where you can worship but I’m sure you can pray for guidance at any of them. Speaking of religion, how many of you stay on top of the 10 Commandments? Probably need to polish up on them myself.
Fun Fact: Church’s Chicken originated in Texas and when it went international in the 1970’s, it had to change its name to Texas Chicken because the brand name Church was not popular in countries with majority non-Christian religions. Church’s Chicken was named after its founder George W. Church.
Remember the Treasure Hunt certificate Is located in an area that is accessible 24 hours a day. It is not located inside any building. No digging is required and certainly you do not have to destroy or remove anyone’s property to get to it. You are looking for an Orange colored certificate and it will have instructions on it. The winner receives $500 and last year’s winner (below) is not eligible. Each clue will be released at 6am each morning. Have fun and good luck!
