Kenneth Wayne Wisby, 74, of Vidor, ended his earthly journey surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, September 6, 2025. A lifelong resident of Vidor, Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before returning home to build a life centered around family, hard work, and his many interests.
He was the owner and operator of K. Wisby Asphalt Paving, where he dedicated himself to his trade for many years. Kenneth had a passion for restoring classic cars and attending car shows. He and his family attended Cruising the Coast in Biloxi for many years with his 57’ Chevrolet. He enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR and any western movie. You could usually find him in his shop with his brother and son tinkering on his cars including his 63’ Impala, 68’ Corvette and 57’ Bel Air while listening to his favorite classic rock songs. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family. Being Pappy was his life’s greatest joy, and nothing made him prouder than supporting his grandchildren in all their activities.
Kenneth is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Wisby of Vidor, TX; son Clinton Wayne Wisby and wife Natalie of Bridge City, TX; daughter Kelli Wisby Vacek and husband Damon of Orangefield, TX; sister Judy Moreau of Vidor, TX; brother Ronald Wisby of Vidor, TX; and his grandchildren Kenli Vacek, Keaton Wisby, Valon Vacek, Claire Wisby, Anson Vacek, and Allie Wisby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernie and Loretta Wisby.
Kenneth will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of classic cars, his witty jokes and the joy he found in life’s simple moments. He was a man of few words but his words always left their mark. His family will live each day knowing how deeply he loved them and how proud he was of them and find comfort that he is at peace in the Lord’s embrace.
