Karen Sue MacLeod, 74, passed away on May 9, 2025, at her home in Warren, Texas, with her family by her side.
Karen was born December 4, 1950, in Beaumont, Texas, to Ashley and Susie Lee.
Karen grew up in Beaumont, Texas, as an only child. In 1990, she graduated from Lamar University with a degree in accounting and went on to work as a county auditor for over 25 years in multiple Texas counties. She also gave back to her community by providing a recovery program during her time as an ordained minister for the Temple of Elemental Magick.
Karen had a fiery spirit and was known as someone who did not mince words. She also had a wealth of knowledge and experience that she freely shared with everyone she met, and made us all better for it. Her favorite guilty pleasures were coffee, vanilla milkshakes, and 3 Musketeers. She loved music, and she loved to make people laugh. She had a joyous laugh that could fill a room.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Lauren Sue Loftin; two granddaughters, Karen Sue Lauren Battle and Jesse Mae Alexandria Marshall; and son-in-law, K.W. Winkles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ashley Lee; mother, Susie Lee; son, Paul Wesley Loftin; and daughter, Karen Michelle Loftin.
We are planning a virtual memorial through Facebook that will be determined and shared on Facebook for date and time.
