Karen Marie Broussard, 63, of Baytown Texas passed away on April 20th, surrounded by family and loved ones. Karen was born in Rayne, Louisiana on September 8, 1959. She was a class of 1978 graduate of the Bridge City High School in Bridge City, TX. Karen spent her adult life working as a secretary at Family Life Church where she and her family attended service. She also worked for Acadian Ambulance Service Department and Pottery Gardens where she still assisted from time to time.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Wisner and Joyce “Peachy” Boudreaux. Karen is survived by her husband, Errol Broussard of Lafayette, LA. Her children: Derek (Jessica) Davis of Crosby, TX, Stephen (Barbara) Jeansonne of Spring, TX, Chad (Lisa) Jeansonne of Rayne, LA, and Ann Jeansonne of Houston, TX. Her siblings: Greg (Susan) Boudreaux of Broussard, LA, Rachel Lewtan of Jacksonville, FL and Jeff Boudreaux of Baytown, TX. She leaves behind six grandchildren: Kynnedy Pendergrass, Ashtyn Davis, Jay’Den Meche, Arianna Meche, Rylen Davis, and Jaclynn Meche. She leaves behind many other close friends and family who cared for her dearly.
Karen lit up a room when she walked in. Her smile was undeniable and her care and compassion for everyone was one of a kind. She never met a stranger and always had a positive outlook on life. Her “Love One Another” approach to life was something she lived by and demonstrated throughout her life. She will be dearly missed by her family and community. Her family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
