Joseph Clifton Moore, 88, of Vidor, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 2nd, 2025.
A longtime resident of Vidor, Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic. After his military service, he dedicated 35 years to Valero, where he retired as a supervisor. Joseph was known for his unmatched ability to fix just about anything—whether it was a motor, a leaking faucet, or a grandkid’s toy, he was the one to call.
He loved the outdoors and could often be found deer hunting, boat riding, fishing, or camping—any excuse to be near a lake or in the woods. His mornings weren’t complete without a good cup of coffee, and his happiest times were those spent in the company of his family. He was a wonderful husband, a loving father, and a cherished “Pawpaw” who left behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and love.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Darlene Moore of Vidor, TX; his son Joseph Moore and wife Renae of Houston, TX; his daughter Mona Malone and husband J of Pasadena, TX; and his brothers Arthur Moore and Carl Moore. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Kourtney, Amber, Kapri, Morgan, Colby, Dylan, Whitney, Carter, Cody, and McKenna, along with eight great-grandchildren: Keilee, Landen, Jordan, Khane, Zhane, Wyatt, Elizabeth, and Kallie.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Charlene Wood and his brother Roland Moore.
Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his stories, wisdom, and laughter will live on through the generations he helped shape.
