Jonathan Earl Carroll, better known as “Johnny Be Good” was born on February10,1969 to Herbert Carroll, Jr., and Mary Oriene Carroll.
He was a lifelong resident of Orange and graduated from West Orange-Stark High School in 1987.
During high school, football was his heart. He worked hard day in and day out. He loved the game that much.
A few years later, he found everlasting love when his daughter, Brionna Carroll came into this world. Years later came Jonathan Carroll, Jr. and Kaisen (Jaden) Carroll.
For many years he worked as a Welder and Construction worker.
Johnny had this big, vibrant, and contagious smile that would light up the room. You couldn’t be sad around him if you wanted to! He always had good energy and was sure to spread it with everyone he came in contact with. He never met a stranger and would give him the shirt off his back.
He was a country boy by heart and loved fishing, horseback riding, Bonfires, hunting, and Zydeco.
Of all his amazing hobbies, his favorite was being near water. He would always say, “water is my peace.” He would then refer to Mark 4:39: “Peace be still! And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”
Johnny was called home peacefully to be with the Lord on July 17, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Oriene Carroll.
He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memories his father, Herbert Carroll, Jr., children Brionna Carroll, Jonathan Carroll, Jr. and Kaisen (Jaden) Carroll, granddaughter Yasmine Curtis, siblings Kenneth DeRouen, LaWana King (Joe), LaTonya Carroll, Herbert Carroll, III (Jackie), LaDonna Carroll (Harold), and LaQuetta Jones-Marshall (Jeffery), special sister Vertia “FeFe Lindley, brothers through love, Quinton Tezeno and Bryan (Chop) Muhammad, special cousins Penny Papilion and LaSanda Anosike and a host of nieces, nephews and many cousins.
