
The Celebration of Life for Mr. John M. Butler, 72, of Orange, will be held during Military Honors presented by the United States Army Burial Detail from Fort Polk, LA at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA.
Services will be held Friday October17th, 2025 at 11am. Inurnment will follow. Services are under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.
John Martial Butler was born April 17, 1953, in Lafayette, LA to Carmelite (Key) Butler and George Butler. He passed September 22, 2025, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX.
After receiving numerous military awards including two Bronze Stars, Overseas Ribbons, Marksmanship and Grenade Badges, he was Discharged With Honors, at the rank of Sergeant.
Residing in Orange, he was employed as a Security Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Tamika Butler of Orange, stepsons, David Pete of Orange, Ashton Joseph of Merryville, LA and Linton Joseph, III of Orange, stepdaughters, Cachira Hill of Lake Charles, LA, Jasvac Hill of Alexander, LA, D’Ashia Hunt (Lionell) of Orange, Erica Spencer of Lake Charles and Madalin Joseph of Leesville, LA, two brothers, John William Butler of Lake Charles and Steven Butler of San Francisco, CA, one sister, Ann Butler of Houston, TX, and 24 step-grandchildren. Along with his parents and eight siblings, he was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Gene Hill, Jr., and step-grandchild Zanyah “Love” Barnes.
