
John Dwaine Carpenter, 50, of Orange, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. He was born April 4, 1973, in Sulphur, Louisiana, to Cheryl Lynn McIntosh and Carol John Carpenter.
John was an Iron Worker, and built metal buildings all around the area. He was the former owner of J&J Metal Buildings, in Mauriceville. John loved dogs, and was never without a dog in his life. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, and as a giving man, that would do anything for anyone. He will forever remain a loving father, son and brother.
Survivors include his daughter, Kylin Carpenter of Orange; son, John Carpenter, and his wife, Megan, of Lumberton; Tiger Carpenter, of Austin and Thunder Carpenter, of Deweyville; grandchildren, Dreylin, Skylinn, Frankie, Coreatha and Jessie Kate; mother, Cheryl Lynn McIntosh, and her husband, Albert Hebert, of Orange; sister, Leslie Lavon Rider, and her husband, David, of Orange; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carol John Carpenter and his sister, Danya Lynn Ihle.
A gathering of John’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28th 2024, at Dorman Funeral Home , 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange. His funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2024, also at Dorman Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery, in Orange.
