
John Carroll Callahan, Jr., 64, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Sally Burman.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on July 20, 1960, he was the son of John Carroll Callahan, Sr. and Linda Joy (Evans) Callahan. John lived a full and meaningful life as a dedicated process operator, known for being a big family man. To his beloved grandchildren, he was affectionately known as “Paw Paw,” and “Bubba” to many others. John had a deep love for history and was an avid trivia enthusiast. He especially enjoyed following sports, with a particular passion for the Cowboys and the Astros. His interests brought joy and energy not just to his life but also to those around him. He had a green thumb and loved to bake. He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and found strength in the work he did on his sobriety. John will be remembered for his loving spirit and the memories he created with those he cherished.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Linda and John Callahan, Sr.; grandson, Nicholas; and nephew, Jonathan Navarro.
He is survived by his sons, John “Trey” Callahan III, Christopher Callahan, Jeremy Callahan and wife Jennifer, Jared Callahan and wife Shantal, and Tristain Casiano; grandchildren, Zachary, Kayla, Macie, Hailey, Kelsie, Erica, Holly, and Maddilyn; great grandson, Zachary “Peanut”; siblings, Carroll Girouard and husband James, Sandy Navarro and husband George, Denise Girouard, and Patrick Callanan and wife Tammy; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with a burial to be held at later date at Oak Bluff.
