Joe Neal Granger, Sr., 94, of Orange, Texas passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Joe was born on Monday, April 20, 1925 to Noah Adam and Julia Madge Hill Granger in Orange, Texas. After serving his country honorably and faithfully in the U.S. Army during WWII, he worked as a machine operator for almost 30 years at American Bridge in Orange. Joe and his loving wife, Margaret Ruth “Pug” enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Providing for and taking care of his family were always Joe’s top priorities; recently he suffered an injury and his first thoughts were how he was going to take care of his family. Joe was a man with a definite opinion; he liked to face things head on in life. When his wife was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease he took care of her every need for three years without complaining; it was what you did and how you did it. Joe never met a stranger and he had a great sense of humor; he loved to pick on his children, grandchildren, and even the great grandchildren. You can’t find a picture of Joe with his grandchildren or great grandchildren that he is not smiling, family was his main focus. He did not have a lot of hobbies, but he was a Mason for 50 years. Although he enjoyed a long life, Joe will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
