Jessie “Boots” Ray Whitmire, 94, of Vidor, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native and longtime resident of Vidor, Boots lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to his family, country, and community.
Boots proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, demonstrating the same strength and determination that would define his life. After his service, he built a successful career as an inspector for Enron Inc., retiring after an impressive 41 years of dedication.
A member of Masonic Lodge #1286, Boots cherished the bonds of fellowship and community that came with his membership. In his younger days, he loved hunting and the great outdoors, and as he grew older, he found joy in spending time with his family and sharing stories of his adventures.
Boots is survived by his brothers, LD Whitmire and Raymond Whitmire, both of Vidor, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his wit, wisdom, and warm heart.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores Whitmire; his parents, J.D. and Irene Whitmire; and his siblings, Margaret Nash, Kathleen Revia, Brenda Booth, Linda Angelo, and Larry Whitmire.
Boots leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Harbor Hospice House for the compassionate care provided to Boots in his final days. They also wish to thank the many family members and friends who offered their love, support, and assistance throughout this time, ensuring Boots was surrounded by comfort and kindness.
