Jeanna Lynn Eaves, 63, of Gist, Texas, was called home on March 31, 2025. Born on November 10, 1962, in Orange, Texas, to Jean and Winford Barnhart.
She spent her childhood and teenage years in Orange, graduating from West Orange-Stark High School in 1981. An athletic and determined young woman, Jeanna had a passion for volleyball and a strong work ethic that was evident even in her school years. She often worked multiple jobs, balancing shifts at Sears with evenings at the Circle L Café. It was there that a charming cowboy won her heart—one date turned into a lifelong love, and a year later, she married her husband of 42 years, Jessie Eaves.
In 1990, Jeanna and Jessie welcomed their greatest blessing, their son, Josh Eaves. Soon after, she pursued her associate’s degree, paving the way for her 20+ year career at ExxonMobil. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she spent decades balancing day and night shifts, all while raising her “little cowboy.” Her perseverance and commitment ultimately allowed her to retire on her own terms, spending her final years enjoying the company of her beloved husband and family.
Jeanna had a deep love for good music, her bird feeders, Sam Elliott movies, and anything that had even a hint of Elvis. But above all, her greatest joy was her grandsons, Case and Colt Eaves—her heart belonged to them, and nothing made her happier than showering them with love (and plenty of candy).
She leaves behind her loving husband, Jessie Eaves; their son, Josh Eaves, and his wife, Tanner; her two adored grandsons, Case and Colt Eaves; and her sister, Debbie West. She is also survived by her treasured niece and nephews, Brandi Welch, Bryan Eaves, Dustin Eaves, and Dorman Eaves, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Jeanna’s strength, resilience, quick wit, and unwavering love will forever be carried on by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to share in her life.
