Jeanette Marie Michel, age 78, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020. Funeral services, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home, will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Dorman Funeral Home on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Vigil being held at 7:00 PM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow services at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Jeanette was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Tuesday, January 6, 1942, to parents, Lawrence Hebert, Sr. and Odile (Callier). She was a longtime resident of Orange where she was known and loved by many. Jeanette was a very proud member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange. She loved her family beyond measures and the love was always reciprocated. She was considered the Matriarch of her family for a multitude of reasons. Jeanette was a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan and made it a point to always watch the football games on Sundays. Bingo and the slot machines at the casino were also amongst his favorite activities.
Jeanette was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and wonderful friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Jeanette is survived by her loving children, JoEllen Michel and Tracy Michel; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Michel, Wendell Garrie, Jr. and Darrel Garrie, as well as, three great-grandchildren.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years, Darrel Michel; parents, Odile and Lawrence Hebert, Sr.; brothers, Michael Hebert, Lawrence Hebert, Jr. and Clarence Hebert, as well as, sisters; Doris Denson Smith and Audrey Arceneaux.
