Wednesday, Jasper County Judge Mark Allen issued a county wide burn ban.
This order means all open flame fires such as charcoal fires, wood campfires, tiki torches, outdoor burning, etc. are prohibited until the order expires.
The use of propane grills / camp stoves for cooking is permitted. Never leave a lit propane grill / stove unattended, even for a moment. Once meal preparation is complete, propane grills / stoves must be turned off and cannot be used as a campfire replacement.
Please do your part to protect the wild spaces, homes and businesses of Texas. Conditions are extremely hazardous and a wildfire would be very difficult to manage, if not impossible.
