
The Jasper ISD School Board has approved a plan for students to enjoy a 4-day school week beginning in the fall of 2022 according to a story from KJAS Radio.
According to Superintendent John Seybold, the district polled parents and staff with 64% of parents in favor of the plan and 84% of teachers in agreement.
Seybold said that the length of the school day was not extended and the calendar includes the required 75,600 minutes plus 5 bonus school days of student instructional time.
Starting in 2022 Jasper will join District 9-4A in football with Bridge City and West Orange-Stark. They will also play against BC, WOS, LCM and Vidor in other sports.
