The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Janet (Brown) Collins, 66, of Houston, Texas will be Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11am, Planted Houston Church, 1100 Dell Dale St, in Channelview, Texas 77530, under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 until 11am.
Rites of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 1 st at 11am at Hollywood Community Cemetery in Orange, Texas.
Janet Belinda Brown Collins, affectionately known as “JBBC,” was born November 20, 1958, in Orange, Texas, to the proud parents, Evill (Gasaway) Brown and Alonzo Brown. Janet was the sixth of eight children and made sure nobody ever forgot it. In 1982 she met and married the love of her life, Timothy Collins. Their bond was built on friendship, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Three sons were born, Alangelo,
Andrew, and Timothy, Jr. Each a reflection of her strength, warmth, and boundless love.
Janet was a walking ray of sunshine. She never met a stranger; she only made future friends. She was the life of every party and proudly held the title of reigning “Drop It Like It’s Hot” Queen, no challengers dared step up. Her laughter was contagious, her hugs were healing, and her advice always came with honesty, heart, and a wealth of wisdom.
She believed deeply in the power of family, and even when life threw curveballs, Janet faced them with grace, grit, and a smile that could light up a room. Her spirit was magnetic, her heart generous, and her legacy unforgettable.
Her summons from earthly life came August 17, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Janet leaves behind a loving tribe: her sons, Alangelo Collins and Andrew Collins(Stephanie), her brothers, Lawrence Brown (Beatrice) and Fredrick Brown (Sirella), sisters, Altha Pappas, Sharon Brown, and Quita Lillard (James), grandchildren, Sidryne Collins, Alyssa Toliver, Andrea Collins, Leangelique Silas- Collins, Aniya Cole, and Alangelo Collins, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy, son Timothy (Timbo) Collins, Jr., parents, Evill and Alonzo Brown, brothers, Bishop Angelo Joseph Brown and Alonzo Carlos Brown, who we are sure greeted her with open arms.
