James Wilson was born December 2, 1959, and passed away January 22, 2026, at the age of 66.
A barber by trade and by passion, James didn’t just cut hair, he built relationships. His chair was a place of laughter, stories, music, and honesty. Many came in as clients and left as friends.
He had a deep love for his mama’s cooking and never missed a chance to talk about it. Those meals weren’t just food to him, they were comfort, family, and love on a plate. He was also a singer at heart, always ready to share a song, a melody, or a moment filled with music.
James had a special love for animals and a natural kindness toward all living things. His caring spirit showed in the way he treated people, animals, and life itself, with warmth, humor, and sincerity.
Above all, he was funny, loving, and genuine. His laughter, his apologies, his songs, and his love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
He is survived by his brother, Jeff Wilson and wife Barbara; nephew, Pete Morris; and aunts, Winnie Green, Shirley Harvey, and Jean Ratliff.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Vera Colligan; father, Pete Wilson; and sister Debbie White.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2026, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Pastor Michael Orange will be officiating. Interment to follow Ida Wilson Cemetery.
