
James “Red” Wendell Wedgeworth Sr., 75, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 25th, 2025, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Orange, Red spent many years working as a dedicated longshoreman. Known for his witty sense of humor, generous heart, and fiercely competitive spirit, he lived life with energy and warmth. Red loved a good cup of coffee, listening to music, watching the news, and playing pool. He enjoyed traveling, taking his family to the park, and especially cherished sharing meals with loved ones. Athletic by nature, he stayed active and engaged throughout his life. He is survived by his children, James Wendell Wedgeworth Jr. and Kelly Wedgeworth, both of Orange, TX; his sister, Mary Vidrine of Rusk, TX; grandchildren James Wedgeworth III, Brandon Wedgeworth, Khriston Wedgeworth, Jamie Wedgeworth, Alexis Malbrue, and Christopher Wedgeworth; as well as five great-grandchildren and one on the way. He will be deeply missed.
