James “J.R.” Robert Busby, 64, of Orange, passed away on February 10, 2021, in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on December 12, 1956, he was the son of Cecil Murl Busby, Sr. and Betty Ann (Marshall) Busby. Lovingly referred by many as “Pops”, his family & friends were the light of his life. He loved spending time outdoors and surrounded by his family. He was a Machinist at Drill Co. in Houston for a number of years, and later went on to be a painter and a good painter at that. J.R. was a man of few words, but whenever he did speak, he made it mean something. He enjoyed life to its fullest and was always found laughing. J.R. will be deeply missed by all those who came to know and love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Betty Busby; loving wife, Tammy Busby; previous wife, Sharon Busby; brother, Charles Busby; and sons, Joshua Busby and Christopher Busby.
He is survived by his children, Jason Busby of Deweyville, Dawn Busby of Indiana, Terrie Rasmussen of Florida, Kristie Lucas of Florida, Michael Manley of Huffman, Texas, Curtis Manley of Florida, Billiejean Gaston of Florida and Jamie Busby of Orange; 25 grandchildren; and siblings, Sheila Abshire of Orange, David Busby of Massachusetts, Cecil Busby, Jr. of Deweyville, Annette Morales of Houston, Alida Lohse of Orange, and Cecilia Busby of Colorado; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family & friends.
