
James D Kibodeaux was born March 13, 1935, and passed away September 27, 2025, at the age of 90.
James was a man of many talents. He spent over 35 years of his life as a dedicated electrical inspector at DuPont, where he made lasting friendships and contributed to the company’s success with unwavering commitment. He built a reputation as a dependable, loyal employee with a work ethic like no other.
In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Before his health declined, he loved taking trips on his motorcycle with his friend Ricky Simmons, which gave him a sense of freedom, adventure, and joy that he cherished.
To his family, he was more than a husband, father, and grandfather he was a teacher, a role model, and a steady source of love and support. His legacy will live on in the lessons he passed down and the values he instilled in us.
A true craftsman at heart, James built the home his family still lives in today more than 60 years ago a lasting symbol of his dedication, skill, and love for family. He filled his workshop with tools and projects that showcased his creativity, talents, and dedication.
James was a jack of all trades, a man who cherished life’s simple pleasures: a well-made tool, time spent with his loved ones, and the companionship of his beloved dogs. His warm smile, quick wit, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Above all, James was a man of faith. He was a member of West Orange Church of Christ. His faith was the foundation of his life, and his quiet example of kindness, service, and humility touched all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Bobby Kibodeaux; children, David and wife Karen, Lanay, Mark, and Michael; grandchildren, Lindsey and husband Graham, Daniel, Amanda and husband Chad, Lacie and husband Sean, Hunter and wife Lori, Wade, Josh, Chad and wife Heather, Ethan and Colton; 19 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alford and Esther Kibodeaux; siblings, Gilbert and Sidney.
Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., October 1, 2025, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons, 8808 Highway 87 North Orange, Texas. Interment to follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery, 8885 Old US – 90 Orange, Texas.
