James Bruce Burch, age 69, of Orange, Texas, passed from this life on Friday, February 5, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas, with Brother Jim Phillips officiating services. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Dorman Funeral Home. Interment will follow services at, King Cemetery in Hartburg, Texas. Services are entrusted to Dorman Funeral Home.
Bruce was born in Orange, Texas on Sun day, February 3, 1952 to Lois (Thomisee) and Clarence Burch. He was a longtime resident of Orange, Texas where he was known and loved by many friends and most of all, by his family. He made his career working as a mechanic for DuPont for 15 years and later working for Orange County Mosquito Control for 21 years, from which he later retired. Bruce was an avid hunter and fisherman, at his best in the midst of nature. He loved the outdoors with a passion. He was a very hard-working man and wonderful provider. James will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.
James is preceded in death by his loving wife of 31 years, Susie Burch; 6 brothers; 2 sisters, as well as, his parents, Lois and Clarence Burch.
Those left to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Stacy Durio and husband Michael of Orange, Texas, Lynda Teal of Batavia, Illinois, Vena and Dennis Shaw of Orange, Texas, as well as, Denise Teal of Orange, Texas. “Special” daughters, Sheri Huckaby and Leisha Myers of Orange, Texas; grandchildren, Kade Durio, Keeley Durio, Adam Hughes and wife Cierra of Orange, Texas, D.J. Kourtney and wife Amber of Orange, Texas, Skylar Trahan and husband Ryan of Bridge City, Texas; great grandchildren, Alayna Hughes, Alissa Hughes, Kaytlyn Kourtney and Harper Trahan; sisters, Sharon Hutson and husband Peewee, Annette Phillips and husband Jim, Janice Smith and husband Robert; brothers, Allen Burch and wife Bennie, Billy Burch and wife Patty.
Bruce is gone but he will never be forgotten. He will live on in our hearts forever.
