On October 19, 1952, Jacky was born to Harry and Bessie Rodgers in Beaumont, Texas.
Jacky dutifully served his beloved country for 6 years in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard. His unmatched work ethic earned him membership in the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 450 where he proudly served as a Crane Operator for 45 years. Jacky’s professional accomplishments continue to dot the landscape around the industrial and petrochemical complexes of SE Texas and SW Louisiana from multiple projects he worked on throughout his career. After retirement, he was honored to serve as a board member of MAG Church where he found abundant joy serving the Lord and his church family. Jacky’s most impactful contributions in his life were made to his family and friends. Jacky loved with his whole heart; his fingerprints remain on anyone who knew him…he gave all he had for those he loved. He was a fierce protector, a gentle mentor, a loyal friend and a loving man of God. Jacky’s unwavering faith and personal walk with the Lord are an inspiration to all and he loved to visit and share his story. Facing a multitude of health issues in his later life, he responded with the fearless spirit of a seasoned warrior and continually displayed his courage of conviction and selfless nature. His beautiful heart continued to fight on for his family and his beloved Jeanean until he was finally called to rest. Jacky Rodgers was a remarkable man… he will be dearly missed but his legacy will live on within us all. “The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them” (Proverbs 20:7). We will continue to find peace and comfort in Paul’s letter to Timothy, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). Our family’s heart is full knowing that our Husband, Dad, PeePaw, Brother, Uncle, and Friend ascended to Glory to hear his Savior say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew25:21).
