It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Jackie “Jack” William Patrick O’Toole. He passed peacefully at his home in Vidor, TX after living a rich, adventurous and full life of 76 years.
Jack was born on December 22, 1948 in Galveston, TX, to Edward “Bubba” William O’Toole and Eunice Myrtle Lisbony (Hinesley). He filled his younger years by exploring the island, playing music with his band, and spending time with his beloved grandma, Uncle Tuggie and siblings. In his early twenties, Jack served his country by working as a jet mechanic in the Navy during the Vietnam war. He wore many hats after his service, enriching the lives of others by working in the postal service, as a bus driver, a meal deliverer for Meals on Wheels, and as a friend, brother, father and grandfather.
Jack had a great passion for reading, writing, and playing bass and guitar. He had a love for music, visual media and sports. He always had a continual curiosity for technology, and a huge heart for caring for animals. His many stories and his multitude of memories will be cherished by all who knew him.
Preceding Jack in death are his father and mother – Edward and Eunice; his sister – Debra “Debbie”; his brother – Michael; and many of his dearly loved animals.
Jack is celebrated in life by his six children – Shannon, Shawn, Heather, Kayley, Ryan, and Ainslie; his many grandchildren – Ashley, Jacob, Christian, Caden, Clare, Rowan, Lennon and Sullivan; his great-grandchild – Riona; his sisters – Rhonda “Ronnie”, Brenda, and Barbara; and by his many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
