International Paper says they are “undergoing a transformational journey to become a stronger, more profitable sustainable packaging solutions company.” That was after they announced they’re laying off approximately 650 employees.
This follows the announcement of laying off approximately 500 employees from the Orange plant almost one year ago to the day. They also laid off another 400 between North Carolina and Florida at that time.
Most of the new layoffs will come from Memphis, where the company is headquartered.
