
Hurricane Michael is continuing to organize just northeast of the Yucatan peninsula. It is forecast to move into the southeast Gulf today and is expected to be near or at hurricane strength at that time. Michael is forecast to make landfall on Wednesday over the Florida Panhandle.
Michael will bring increase easterly winds across the northwest Gulf. This will result in increased swells and tides across our area. Therefore, a Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect. Tides will run 1 to 2 feet above normal at high tide this afternoon and tonight.
