Vidor loses Gm. 1 to Liberty
Bridge City swept Huffman in the 4A Bi-District Round Thursday, winning 1-0 and 2-1 in front of the home crowd.
Carson Fall continues to dominate in the circle and she’s also doing it with her bat. She threw a no-hitter in Game One with 21 strikeouts. In Game Two she threw a one hitter and struck out 17. AND she drove in the two runs with a double in the second. AND she tagged out the tying run at home when Huffman was threatening in the fifth.
“I’m thankful after every game that Carson is on our team,” said first year coach Kylie Bradley with a smile. “She told me she wanted that second game (after pitching the first). And even though I could tell she was exhausted, she finds a way to push through.”
In Game One, the only run of the game came in the fourth. Haley Munoz walked and Gabby Moore came in to run for her. She advanced to third on a single by Lexi Nugier and a sacrifice by Anna Autrey. Then Moore scored on a passed ball to give the Cards the lead, which would be enough with Fall on the mound.
The Cards will play the winner between Hudson and Carthage.
