Howard Floyd Murray, 88, a native of Orange, TX, and a recent resident of Lake Charles, LA, passed from this life on December 7, 2024, in the comfort of his home and surrounded by his family.
He was an amazing and loving husband and uncle to his nieces and nephews. Mr. Murray served with honor in the United States Air Force. He retired from Firestone after 37 years of loyal service. He loved to carve and draw. He excelled at both and took great pride in developing his skills. He enjoyed old westerns, was a Grit TV aficionado, and was a Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros fan. Howard was well-loved and respected by all who knew him.
Mr. Murray is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Floyd and Alberteen Baird Murray, sisters, Barbara Brady and Beverly Edwards, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Murray is survived by his wife of 51 Years, Carole Maxine Breaux Murray, sister-in-law Sybil Richard; nephews Clay “ Sparky” Sparks, and his wife Becky; Keith Edwards, Patrick Edwards, Joey Breaux, Keith Breaux and wife Becky, Steven Richard and his wife Tiffany, Mike Breaux and his wife Linda, and Kevin Breaux and his wife Kelly, nieces, Paula Robles, Shirley Fruge and her husband Wayne, Sharen Miller and her husband Pat, Christine Breaux, and Mary D. Breaux.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 9:00 am until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on December 11, 2024, in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at LeBleu Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial donation to Little Cypress Baptist Church, Orange, TX.
