
Howard Adams, Sr. 85, passed away on February 28, 2017 in Orange, Texas surrounded by his family.
Services will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Orange, Texas.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the church with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Magnolia Springs, Texas.
Howard was born in Farrisville, Texas on October 8, 1931 to the late Eldon and Ellie Adams.
He relocated his family from Magnolia Springs, Texas to Orange, Texas where he resided for 64 years.
Howard was married to the late Carrie Lee Adams and to this blessed union four sons were born.
Howard was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church for 61 years where he was actively involved in the Deacon Ministry, the Male Chorus, Sunday School and was the longest serving male member of the church.
Howard retired from Gulf Oil after 32 years of service and was blessed with 31 years of wonderful retirement gardening, fishing, hunting, travelling with his siblings, enjoying time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time in the country at his home with family (The “Big House”) and the best time of all was the 9:00 a.m. daily fellowship with his sons for coffee. He shared words of wisdom with any who stopped by for a visit or a cup of coffee.
Also preceding him in death is his sister, Mable Swain and brother, L. T. Adams.
Howard leaves to cherish his memories his amazing four sons, Roy Adams (Brenda) of Burke, VA, Howard Adams, Jr. (Cynthia), Calvin Adams (Margaret) and Michael Adams, all of Orange, Texas; three sisters, Joyce Kelley (Herman); Wanda Faye Cooper and Alean Booker of Kirbyville, Texas; two brothers, Melvin Adams of Orange, Texas and Jerry Adams (Catherine) of Kirbyville, Texas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one niece, Olivia Drumgo of Houston, Texas; special friend, Lillie Moses of Orange, Texas and a host of loving relatives and friends.
