Saturday night around 8:15pm the Orange Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1105 Fernwood in the Cypress Bayou area.
When trucks arrived there were flames coming out of the roof. Firefighters were able to put the fire out without complete loss but there was also extensive smoke and water damage.
Battalion Chief Joe Mires said Mr. and Mrs. Bales came home from going out to eat to find their house on fire. No one else was in the home.
Mires said Fire Marshall John Bilbo was called in to investigate the cause.
