Fire Departments from Pinehurst, Orange, Bridge City and West Orange converged on a house fire called in at 3716 Mockingbird in Pinehurst Sunday night just before 8pm.
Flames were showing from the back of the home when they arrived. Homeowner John Gill said he heard a loud pop before smelling what he described as paper burning. Gill and one other family member were able to get out safely.
The home sustained some damage but whether it was a total loss is under investigation.
