The Orange County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has a new Executive Director. Jessica Hill is excited about taking on her new position with the EDC. Hill has experience working with the county the last six years or so and appreciates the opportunity to engage with community members and businesses to continue growing Orange County.
Hill comes to the Orange County EDC after working with the Regional Economic Development Initiative (REDI). She is looking forward to meeting and working with local and county officials to bring new businesses to the county. Hill wants to orient herself to the specifics of her position as executive director and its structure within the county, but wants to get out to meet people in order to understand what Orange County needs to move forward.
Included in her position as executive director Hill will be involved with the distribution of county Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funds. She attended a workshop Monday to discuss guidelines for the use of HOT funds. The deadline for applying for HOT funds has been extended from last week to allow everyone the opportunity to pursue receiving the funds.
