
Orange County has made recent inspections of local eating establishments. Several businesses received a score of 100 including Lucky Wok on 16th St, Kotoyama in Pinehurst, La Salvadorena food truck on Edgar Brown Dr, and Cookie & Crust in Vidor.
Receiving a 97-99 were Walmart Bakery in WO, Crawdads on I-10, BBQ Depot in Vidor, and Dominos Pizza on Hwy. 12.
Burger King in Vidor had the lowest score of 85 among the recent inspections. The inspector noted: steady water drip at the handwashing station and at the mop sink- immediate repairs are needed at both stations; ice build up on the walk-in freezer door- enough build up that the door to the walk-in freezer does not close completely- immediate repairs are needed; vent a hood and floors need to be cleaned of old foods/grease buildup.
Tia Juanita’s in Orange received an 88. Coolers, fryers and floors need to be cleaned of old foods/grease buildup. Improper storage found inside coolers/freezers. Found raw shelled eggs above vegetables and meats stored above cake inside walk-in freezer. Dates needed on all foods inside coolers/freezers.
Waffle House on Hwy. 62 received an 86. The inspector noted: Meats stored above box of lettuce inside the walk-in cooler; Ice scoop being stored on top of counter; Chemicals stored improperly on storage shelf next to sliced breads; Dates needed on all product inside all coolers; Soap needed at the handwashing stations. (Management corrected immediately); Storage shelves and area around flat top grill need to be cleaned of old foods/grease buildup.
