
The Orangefield boys and girls are leading the District Meet after a windy Day One in Anahuac Tuesday. The boys lead 58-50 over Anahuac and the Lady Bobcats lead East Chambers 91.5-65.5. The running finals will be Thursday.
Zach Morrow was a triple gold winner, taking first in the pole vault, triple jump and long jump. The Bobcats also finished 1-2-3 in the pole vault.
Morrow vaulted 13-6 followed by Gavin Gravett 12-0, and Dacius Lytle 10-6. Morrow long jumped a personal best 21-0 and he also set a new best in the Triple Jump (42-3).
On the girls side, Haley Spears won the discus with a toss of 115-3. Madison McCormack set at PR with 105 to finish third and Charlee Sanches also advances to Area with a fourth place finish of 98-8.
McCormack will also go to area in the shot after a third place finish with Spears finishing fourth.
Hallee Becker set a PR in the pole vault to finish second at 9-6. Freshman Madilyn LaSalle was third at 8-6.
Natalie Black and Tyia McKnight went 1-2 in the long jump with PR’s 16-3 and 15-11. Freshman Remi Moran qualified for Area in the high jump with a fourth place finish (4-10). McKnight was second in the triple jump with a PR 33-8.
In the 3200, Trinity Gordon and Kendall Sullivan finished 2-3 to advance.
