
Following a lengthy and thorough investigation by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, a case stemming from the August 21, 2025, death of Bami Carmane in Vidor, Texas, was presented by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office to the Grand Jury.
The Grand Jury returned a true bill indicting Adrian C. Echevarria for Murder and Aggravated Sexual Assault. Echevarria was indicted on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, and was arraigned the following day. His bond was set at $2,000,000 for the murder charge and $500,000 for the aggravated sexual assault charge.
Sheriff Bobby Smith expressed his appreciation to the Criminal Investigation Division, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, and the Texas Rangers for their dedicated work and collaboration throughout this investigation.
