
Wed., Nov. 28 – GK Kiwanis welcomes Jackie Huckabay from Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) to discuss Units Overseas. GK Kiwanis meets at 9:30 a.m. each Wed. at the Salvation Army Bldg., MLK and Strickland in Orange. The public is invited, and coffee is served.
Wed., Dec. 5 – Andy Preslar, Director of Reporting and Quality Enhancement Plan at Lamar State College-Orange, will present information regarding GOALS (Greater Orange Area Literacy Services) and the non-profit’s need for tutors and students in the area, as well as the need for additional for funding. Preslar serves as president of GOALS. The Golden K meeting is held at 9:30 a.m. each Wed. at the Salvation Army Bldg., MLK and Strickland in Orange. The public is always invited. Hot coffee is and light refreshments offered.
Wed., Dec. 12 – Laura Moore, a retired law enforcement officer, will be the guest speaker of Golden K Kiwanis, as Moore discusses her current job as a full time mother of 7 teen foster children, two of whom she and her husband have now adopted. She and her husband have formed the Anderson-Moore Foundation to assist children and families in need. The Golden K
meeting is held each Wed. at 9:30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Bldg., MLK and Strickland in Orange. The public is welcome, and coffee is served.
Wed., Dec. 19 – Golden K Kiwanis will hold a holiday gathering for members and to thank staff personnel of the Salvation Army. Each member is asked to bring a favorite holiday food. The gathering will be held at the usual time of 9:30 a.m. on Wed., assembled at the Salvation Army Bldg., MLK and Strickland in Orange. Dec. 19 is just for GK members and the staff of Salvation Army.
Wed., Dec. 26 – No Golden K Kiwanis due to holidays.
