
Gloria Jean Taylor Grayson better known as “Jeannie” peacefully passed away at the age of 63 at Focus Care of Orange, in Orange Texas on July 15, 2022.
The home-going celebration will be under the direction of Colonial Memorial Chapel located at 1512 10th Street Orange, Tx. Services will be held Saturday, July 30 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 1109 2nd Street, Orange, Tx 77630. Viewing will be from 9:00am-10:30am and service starting at 11:00am-1:00pm. Interment will follow at Magnolia Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Gloria was born on November 26, 1958, in Orange Texas. She personified grace, style, and boldness. She was a lover of food, jokes, and a good swing-out partner. She enjoyed life as it came. Gloria was a proud graduate of the final class at West -Orange High school, class of 1977. Gloria loved and was known for her basketball skills throughout high school and her collegiate years. Jeannie was the first among her immediate family to receive a full ride scholarship to a college, Angelina Community College.
Gloria was an Operator and Lab Tech. at Dupont/Invista in Orange for over 20 years. She was well loved by her colleagues, family, and friends. One of her well known past times was reading, commentating on an array of sports from basketball to tennis, as well as, contributing her time as a community volunteer and being an active political advocate.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter and son-in-law Kristen Mone’t Ross and Keyon Ross, grandson, Knox Matthew Ross, mother, Delores ‘’Sally-Ann” Warnell, Kevin “Caboo” Warnell (Betty), Donald Ray “Quack” Warnell (Kathy), Cedrick Teagler (Sharon), Sheryl Denise “Nissi” Warnell, godchildren, Gloria Danielle Jefferson, Kevin Offord, Devin Offord, Dresdynn Warnell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and segregate brothers and sisters. Jeannie is preceded in death by her father, Ernest “Mickey” Warnell.
Gloria’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and aides at Focus Care of Orange Nursing home, they were truly a Godsend. Friend and loving care giver Sylvia “Kay” King, we would not have been able to do it without you. Thank you for loving, caring and going that extra mile for Gloria, always. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Dugas, for not only being outstanding neighbors, but assisting with every possible thing you thought we needed with an open heart and joyful giving. Mr. and Mrs. Shea Dugas, for truly being a joyful giver with your time, actions, care, and love. Lastly, “The Gang”- Ronnie Hebert, Sharon Brown Hendrix, and Debbie Rhodes. You have always been and continued to be the epitome of what friendship looks like through the test of time. There were no wants nor needs that the family did not receive.
