Gerald Johnson passed peacefully at home. He loved to travel and share stories about the places he lived and worked before retiring and returning to Orange. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, he also enjoyed good food—especially clam chowder—and classic TV shows.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ammer and Junius Johnson Sr., his brother, Junius Johnson Jr., and his sister, Debra Broussard.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Evelyn Collins; nephews and nieces Joseph Collins Jr., Athena Jefferson (Waymand), Robert Collins (Jade), Ursula Smith (Corey), Kenneth Cameron, and Nathaniel Broussard; great-nieces and nephews Marina Collins, Athenee Jefferson, Joseph Collins III, Jalen Jefferson, Devin and Dylan Gray, Jaden Collins, and Chloe Collins; and great-great-nephew Ezren Gee. He is also remembered with love by his close friends Dewight and Rosie Celestine, the Lazenby and Wilson families, and a host of relatives and friends.
The family extends heartfelt thanks for the many thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, Gerald, reunited with our parents, sister, and brother. You will always be loved and remembered by your family and friends.
